Use Tally with bank statements

Let Tally read statement evidence and suggest matches while you control the reconciliation.

What Tally Can Prepare

Tally can use trustworthy statement evidence to help prepare a reconciliation:

  • a statement covers the period and its extraction is verified;
  • the statement maps to an active bank or card register;
  • the account's bank-feed rows are posted rather than sitting unposted.

A verified bank statement extraction mapped to an active register

Excluded bank-feed rows stay out of matching. Uploading the statement PDF is not enough on its own; verify the extraction before relying on its suggested matches.

Use The Suggestions

Open Recs & Statements > Bank Recs and start or continue the account's reconciliation. Choose Match remaining transactions when you want LedgerHQ to apply exact statement matches. Review those checks against the statement, then check or uncheck the remaining rows yourself.

Tally may explain missing evidence, unposted activity, or an unexplained difference. It does not finish the reconciliation or post an adjustment simply because the worksheet is close.

Finish only after you have reviewed the checked transactions and the live difference is $0.00.

See Match transactions to the statement and Finish a bank reconciliation.
