Bank connection messages
Send company owners secure no-login links by text and email for bank connections and statement requests.
Open Company Texts
Open Bank Feeds for the company and select Company texts. The dialog shows the equal company owners whose contact information is managed in Company Settings, the owner selected for bank outreach, Tally client-request settings, a manual bank connection request form, and any open requests.
Choose the owner who should receive bank connection texts. This selection does not make that person a primary owner or change access; it only routes bank outreach. If a name or cell phone is missing, select Edit company info and complete the owner in Company Settings. Bank Feeds never stores a separate copy of the number.
Send One Company Bank Task
Contact Client sends one secure no-login task link. That page is the tracker for every selected down feed and every requested new bank or card. Each send attempts both text and email, and either channel can succeed on its own.
When no feed is down, the dialog starts in add-new-bank mode. When any feed is down, choose reconnect, add a new bank or card, or both before sending. Tally asks the same question when the request is vague. She does not guess.
A first-time row is only for a bank or card that is not already on file. If the requested account already exists, LedgerHQ stops the send. A broken match is offered as a reconnect on the same task. A healthy match needs no new connection.
Reconnect uses the existing Plaid Item first. A finished login is not the same as a fixed feed. The row stays in checking-feed until LedgerHQ verifies delivery. If Plaid still has no valid accounts, the existing Item stays and the row needs firm follow-up.
Two down feeds, or a down feed plus a new bank, share one text, one email, and one task page. Each reconnect row updates its own Item.
Choose What Tally May Request
Open the company, then go to Company info > Tally client requests. The two switches are independent:
- Bank connection requests lets Tally ask an owner to connect or reconnect an account.
- Statement requests lets Tally ask for a missing statement.
Turning a switch off stops Tally from creating new requests of that type. It does not cancel existing requests or disable requests a firm member sends manually. LedgerHQ uses the selected owner's email address and cell phone and may send reconnect reminders every 48 hours until the bank is connected again.
Manual sends remain available from Contact Client regardless of these settings. Archived companies do not receive new requests.
Delivery results
Each request attempts both text and email delivery when the selected owner has those contact details. LedgerHQ records the result of each delivery attempt on the request.
Review Open Requests
The bottom of the dialog lists open bank connection requests. Each open request shows the account or institution, any advisor note, how many texts have been sent, and when the next reminder is due. If reminders have stopped, follow up manually or send a new request after confirming the phone number and account details.
Do not put bank credentials, card numbers, private tax information, or long instructions in the note. Keep the text focused on which account to connect or reconnect and why the firm needs it.
Import bank and card history
Build historical books from CSV or Excel exports in Settings, review the detected accounts and categories, then import the checked package.
