Bank connection texts
Text company owners secure no-login links for new bank connections and reconnects.
Bank connection texts let a firm ask a company contact to connect a bank or fix an existing bank feed without giving that person a LedgerHQ login. The text contains a secure no-login link that opens the bank connection flow for the specific company.
Use this when the firm needs the client to take action in Plaid: connecting a new account, choosing an account the firm requested, or reconnecting a feed that stopped syncing because the bank needs attention.
Open Company Texts
Open Bank Feeds for the company and select Company texts. The dialog shows the equal company owners whose contact information is managed in Company Settings, the owner selected for bank outreach, automatic feed-text settings, a manual bank connection request form, and any open requests.
Choose the owner who should receive bank connection texts. This selection does not make that person a primary owner or change access; it only routes bank outreach. If a name or cell phone is missing, select Edit company info and complete the owner in Company Settings. Bank Feeds never stores a separate copy of the number.
Send A New Bank Connection Request
Use Send bank connection request when the company needs to connect a bank or card that is not already connected. Fill in Account to connect with a plain description such as "New Chase checking account" or "Amex card ending 1234." Add a short Note to client if the client needs context.
Then select Send task link. LedgerHQ sends a secure no-login link to the selected owner's cell phone. The owner opens the link, completes the Plaid flow, and LedgerHQ can then map the connected account to the correct register.
Text A Reconnect Link
When an existing feed is broken, LedgerHQ can show a reconnect prompt in Bank Feeds. Use the text option when the client, not the firm, needs to complete the bank step. The reconnect text sends a secure no-login link for the existing connection rather than asking the client to sign in to LedgerHQ.
For reconnects, include the bank or account the client should fix and a short note such as "Please reconnect this account so recent activity can sync." This helps the client choose the right institution and account during the Plaid flow.
Automatic Feed Texts
The Automatic feed texts switch controls automatic texts for existing feeds that need the company's attention. When it is on, LedgerHQ can text secure reconnect links when a feed breaks and can send follow-up reminders every 48 hours while the request remains open. Automatic texts require an explicitly selected owner with complete contact information.
Automatic texts are for broken existing feeds. Manual Send bank connection request texts are for explicit firm requests, including first-time bank connections. Archived companies are not texted.
If texting is not configured for the environment, LedgerHQ can save the text settings but no SMS will be sent until texting credentials are available.
Review Open Requests
The bottom of the dialog lists open bank connection requests. Each open request shows the account or institution, any advisor note, how many texts have been sent, and when the next reminder is due. If reminders have stopped, follow up manually or send a new request after confirming the phone number and account details.
Do not put bank credentials, card numbers, private tax information, or long instructions in the note. Keep the text focused on which account to connect or reconnect and why the firm needs it.
