Company overview dashboard
Read the company Overview dashboard — revenue and expense cards, the financial KPI tiles, and Recent Entries.
The Overview dashboard is the landing view for a company's books. It reads the company's posted activity and summarizes financial health at a glance — revenue and expenses, a profitability trend, a row of financial KPIs, and the most recent journal entries. Nothing here is edited; it is a read-only snapshot that points you toward the work.
Everything on the dashboard is company-scoped to the company selected in the sidebar picker. Switch companies and the dashboard reloads for the newly selected one.
Revenue, Expenses, And Net Income
Below the greeting banner sit three stat cards — Revenue, Expenses, and Net Income — each with a small sparkline of its recent trend. A Revenue vs Expenses panel restates the same figures as proportional bars with a Top Expenses breakdown, and a Profitability Trend chart plots revenue, expenses, and net income over the last six months with Net margin, Avg monthly net, and Best month summaries.

When unposted bank-feed activity is waiting, a banner reports how many transactions are ready to post and links straight to Open Fast Coding. If there is no posted activity yet, these panels stay empty until entries are posted.
The Financial KPI Tiles
The Financial KPIs section shows up to six ratio tiles once there is enough posted data to calculate them. Each tile shows the value, its label, and an information icon with a short definition; the value is green when it reads healthy and red when it does not. These are quick health checks for a bookkeeper, not a substitute for a full report.

- Current Ratio — current assets divided by current liabilities. A quick
read on whether near-term assets can cover near-term obligations. It reads
healthy at or above
1x. - Quick Ratio — current assets minus inventory, divided by current
liabilities. A stricter liquidity check using more readily available assets,
also healthy at or above
1x. - Gross Margin — revenue minus expenses, divided by revenue for the year-to-date period. Shows how much revenue remains before other overhead.
- Net Margin — net income divided by revenue for the year-to-date period. Shows how much profit is left from each dollar of revenue.
- Debt to Equity — total liabilities divided by total equity. Shows how much
of the company is financed by obligations versus owner equity; it reads
healthy at or below
2x. - Return on Assets — net income divided by total assets for the year-to-date period. Shows how efficiently assets are producing profit.
A KPI tile only appears when its inputs exist. Early in a company's books, or before opening balances are posted, some tiles are hidden and the whole section is skipped if none can be calculated. A red value is a prompt to look closer, not proof of an error — verify against the underlying reports.
Recent Entries
The Recent Entries list closes the dashboard with the company's latest journal entries — entry number, date, description, status, and amount. Select a row to open the full entry, or View all to go to the Journal Entries screen. When a company has no entries yet, the list offers Create your first entry.

The dashboard reflects only posted activity for the selected company. Draft entries and unposted bank-feed rows do not move these numbers until they are posted, so a figure that looks low may simply mean work is still waiting in drafts or in the bank feed.
For the underlying records behind these figures, see Journal entries and Chart of accounts and registers.
