Start a bank reconciliation
Enter the statement period and balances, then begin checking transactions.
Start a reconciliation with the statement's date and balances, then check only the transactions that cleared on that statement.
Start The Reconciliation
- Open Bank Recs.
- Find the account and click Reconcile. If the account says In progress, click Continue rec instead.
- On the account page, click Start reconciliation.
- Enter the Statement end date.
- For the first reconciliation, enter the Statement opening balance and Statement ending balance exactly as they appear on the statement. LedgerHQ applies the credit-card and loan balance convention when needed.
- For later reconciliations, review the read-only Starting balance carried forward from the last completed reconciliation, then enter the new Ending balance.
- Click Start rec.

The active reconciliation shows the statement ending date, beginning and ending balances, checked total, and Difference. It also lists posted transactions from the statement period and prior uncleared items.

Check a row only when it appears as cleared on the statement. The reconciliation
is ready to finish when Difference is $0.00.
If you entered the ending balance incorrectly, click the pencil beside Ending balance and save the correction. If the entire in-progress session is for the wrong account or period, use Delete and read its confirmation before starting again.
Before starting, see Prepare for your first reconciliation. For card and loan statements, see Enter credit-card and loan balances correctly.
Prepare for your first reconciliation
Make sure the statement, register, and starting point are ready before you begin a bank reconciliation.
Enter credit-card and loan balances correctly
Use the statement's positive balance-due amount while LedgerHQ applies the negative liability balance behind the scenes.
