Find missing bank transactions
Work through connection health, mapping, buckets, and cutoff before concluding that activity is lost.
1. Check The Account Card
Work through these in order. Most "missing" activity is a mapping, timing, or cutoff issue rather than lost data.
Open the company and select Bank Feeds. For the account in question, confirm:
- the institution, type, and masked digits are the ones you expect;
- Last updated shows a recent successful sync;
- the header reads Register 1010 Operating Checking, not No chart-of-accounts register is linked yet.;
- the feed is not paused.
An unmapped account stays connected but publishes nothing. Map it — see Connect a bank or credit card.
2. Check The Other Buckets
The row may be present but not where you looked. Check Pending, Checks, Excluded, Posted, and All. Clear the search box first — it filters on transaction, reference, payee, and account.
A pending row is not missing. A held check is not missing either — see Resolve a held check.
3. Check The Connection
If Last updated is stale, the connection is the likely cause. Tally watches for this — a feed that reports healthy but stops delivering gets an incident and a retry automatically. See How Tally watches your bank connections.
To act on it yourself, see Reconnect a bank that needs attention.
A feed that recovers does not always backfill. If a date window never arrived from the bank, the statement is the way to fill the gap.
4. Check The Cutoff
If the missing dates fall before the company's import cutoff or the register's starting point, that activity was intentionally excluded from LedgerHQ. Confirm the migration cutoff before treating it as a fault. See Choose how to start or move a company.
5. Ask For Help With Evidence
If the account is healthy, mapped, recently synced, unpaused, and the dates are inside the covered period, create a support ticket with the company, institution, account mask, register name, the exact missing date range and amounts, and the Last updated value.
Never include bank credentials, full account numbers, or one-time codes.
