Create your first company
Add company books, enter the first owner, and choose the correct starting chart path.
Create one company workspace for the books your firm manages.
Before You Begin
Have the company name and the first owner's name, email, and cell phone. Every owner receives the same client access and a LedgerHQ invitation.
Create The Company
- Open Companies and select New company.

-
Enter the Company Name. Check the generated Slug; it may contain only lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens.
-
Enter the first owner's Name, Email, and Cell phone.
-
Choose one starting path:
- Start fresh creates LedgerHQ's standard chart of accounts.
- Import from QuickBooks starts with an empty chart and opens Tally's guided import on a Tally firm, or Settings > Import & Export on a Core firm.
- Build from bank CSVs appears on Tally firms. It creates a standard chart and opens Tally Back work for bank and card exports.

- Select Create company once. Company creation is durable even if a later Tally handoff reports an error, so do not submit the form again.
With Start fresh, the company opens with a ready-to-use chart. QuickBooks and bank-CSV paths continue to their import workflow instead.

Creating a company does not import prior books, opening balances, bank transactions, or statements unless you complete the chosen follow-on workflow. The firm's Core or Tally package applies automatically.
If the company is created but the next screen does not open, return to Companies and open the company before trying anything else. Use the question-mark Help button and Tickets if the handoff remains unavailable.
Next: Choose how to start or move the company. For owner maintenance, see Create a company and add owners.
